Representative Andrew McCarty was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. He is a lifelong Alaskan and a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Before his election to the Alaska House of Representatives, he worked in the private sector and served in the Alaska Army National Guard.
