Biography
Senator Gary Stevens was born in McMinnville, Oregon. He moved to Alaska in 1969 and settled in Kodiak. He is a retired professor of history and political science at Kodiak College. He served on the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly and as Mayor of the Kodiak Island Borough. He was first elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2000 and to the Alaska Senate in 2002.
